AMANDA ECCELSTON

Painter - Watercolour, Oil, Acrylic

I am from the BC interior, on the unceded ancestral lands of the Secwépemc Nation. As an introverted kid of the 80s and 90s I was encouraged to pursue any creative medium by my mother and took to drawing and painting. In 2004 I chose to enter into an art degree because it was the only subject matter I could pay attention to. I graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in 2008 from TRU in Kamloops where I found a love of clay. I have won two awards for my ceramic work in 2008 and 2016. My work has been exhibited in galleries in Kamloops and Revelstoke. I have participated in juried art shows and craft fairs across BC and Alberta. I have taught clay lessons for both private and public organizations and have been the president of the local potters guild. I assisted my local MakerSpace in introducing a ceramics program to their membership. My ceramics have been collected by people from all over the world.
